NFL Playoffs: Saturday’s Conference Finals
Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos
Though the Ravens will once again be riding the emotions of Ray Lewis’ impending retirement, they’ll be forced to endure not only Denver’s harsh elements and elevation, but also a Broncos team coming off 11 straight wins.
With two somewhat similar teams, this game will be decided by the Broncos’ home field advantage and, of course, Peyton Manning’s superiority to Joe Flacco.
Broncos 24, Ravens 19
Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers
While the Packers have enjoyed a nice run of late, the 49ers have been a lock for the playoffs since early November, reaping the benefits of a weak division and first round playoff bye.
Though the Niners may be a bit rusty, their physical superiority should allow them to control the game’s tempo and win battles in the trenches.
The lack of a consistent running attack and less than reliable pass protection will most likely put too much of a burden on Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ shoulders.
49ers – 20, Packers – 17
